Adrian Gonzalez – Director of Software Development

Number of years with Veridian?

I have been working at Veridian for 22 years.

Can you provide a background on your role at Veridian?

I began my journey at Veridian as a developer in the Professional Services department, where I focused on designing and developing bespoke solutions tailored to our customers' needs. After three years, I transitioned to the Research and Development department, taking on the responsibility of architecting AMOS. For the past three years, I have been leading the Software Development department, overseeing the development and support of our product portfolio. Lately my efforts have been dedicated to advancing our flagship software, culminating in the evolution and release of AMOS-X.

What do you get up to in a normal working day?

A typical day for me starts with reviewing progress on ongoing projects and setting priorities for the team. I collaborate closely with various departments, including Product Management, Quality Assurance, and Global Support, to ensure alignment on goals and deliverables. A significant portion of my day involves problem-solving, whether it’s addressing technical challenges, removing roadblocks for the team, or refining our development processes. I also dedicate time to strategic planning, such as updating the roadmap and exploring future technologies. Between meetings, I stay hands-on by reviewing code, contributing to architectural decisions, and mentoring team members to support their professional growth. Every day is dynamic, but my focus remains on driving quality, innovation, and customer success through our products.

What is your favorite thing about working at Veridian?

My favorite thing about working at Veridian is the unique blend of innovation and collaboration. I truly enjoy being part of a team that constantly strives to deliver cutting-edge solutions for the cruise industry, while maintaining a strong focus on teamwork and mutual support. The opportunity to work with talented individuals across different regions, tackle complex challenges, and see our efforts translate into impactful products like AMOS-X is incredibly rewarding.

What do you get up to in your spare time?

In my spare time, I enjoy barbequing, spending time with my nephews, and connecting with family and friends. Whether it’s sharing a meal, engaging in meaningful conversations, or just relaxing together, I value these moments of connection. I also like to dive into personal projects or explore new technologies to unwind and recharge.

What is your favorite cruise ship?

As an Argentinean, I can’t help but choose "The Icon of the Seas," the largest cruise ship in the world, christened by none other than the greatest football (soccer) player ever, Lionel Messi!
